Indian/Canadian singer-songwriter Farah Mitha caught us off guard with such a full and soulful voice! On her single ‘Slow Burn’ we get to know who she is as an artist; talented, deep-thinking, and appeals to the pathos.
‘This blazing fire in my brain is all about you’
We can hear the influences of Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys, and Whitney Houston in her beautiful sound. A sound that the whole world could embrace which is something that we rarely say! ‘Slow Burn’ takes us through the roller coaster ride of emotions a relationship entails: The fomo (fear of missing out), the burning desire you have for your lover, and the insecurity/anxiety that can creep in to get you acting out of character. It is a lot to take in all at once and Farah Mitha makes us all FEEL this throughout the song.
‘You made me the one feeling so frustrated. You should settle down so we can start being great’
The production and co-writting by David P Stevens really helped to craft this record. We have been in love with the crazy smooth electric guitar solo towards the end. It combines all of these feelings throughout the song into a sweet medley leading to the ever soothing outro. Him and Farah Mitha might be a duo that sticks like Justin Timberlake and Timberland.
