Indie Artist: Satchit
Up and comer from South London, musician Satchi has been working on various singles leading up to the production of a full length LP.
From the artist:
My latest release is titled “New Peace” which was released on 10th September, followed by the self- directed and edited video on 17th September. The song is all about letting go of stressful situations in life and to move towards finding peace.
While producing this song, and all of my songs, I love finding and manipulating a variety of sounds. The sample in this song is a very standard mariachi band soundbite that has been switched up a little. The song uses retro-style guitars, buzzy synths, a raw drum kit and smooth vocals to let the listener feel that chilled, relaxed vibe. It's got an end of Summer feel to it, which is ideal for the times right now. My vocal style has always been a slick R&B style with elements of South Asian singing, which is audible even in the hook of this song. Due to the carefree style of the song, I directed the video in an upright, handheld style to add to the casual nature of it all. Editing in a mixture of old black and white ‘Felix the Cat’ cartoons illustrated the lyrics in a more carefree nature too, giving the video a bit more of a whimsical vibe.
