DONDA IS FINALLY OUT. DONDA IS FINALLY OUT! After months of Kanye West teasing and multiple shows to tweak verses and songs we finally got the album.
The 27-track masterpiece did not release without spoil as Ye posted on his Instagram, “ Universal put my album out without my approval and they blocked jail 2 from being on the album.” The unfortunate story we typically hear from artists that are signed to major labels. If someone as powerful in the industry as Kanye West struggles with this, there is little hope for just about everyone else.
With that said we really like ‘Donda’! It is a blend of some of the ‘old’ Kanye (in terms of the song writing and heavy auto tune use) and the ‘new’ Kanye (Gospel songs/chords and no cursing on the album). It has over 30 featured artists including the likes of JAY-Z, The Weeknd, Kid Cudi, & more.
This is not our favorite Kanye West album but is one of the best ones he has put out in recent years. With as polarizing and successful as he is are you still rocking with Ye?
