Lil Nas X is no stranger to controversy coming onto the scene with his meme like hit ‘Old Town Road’. He is back but went even further with his single ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ with a Satanic-themed video. This video is WILD!
However polarizing it may be, this song made its way to be his second Billboard Top 100 #1. If we can look at it objectively (no matter how hard that is) the production value, beat, and even melodies are all top notch. It just sounds so good.
We know that this PC world we live in is ready to cancel everything and every one at a moment’s notice, but how can our favorite artists ‘be themselves’ if we inhibit it? As a fan we seem to want one thing and then say the other. We are not condoning Satanic values or even saying he was correct with this video, but we love the artistic freedom and creative approach Lil Nas X has.
