Macelino - Holiday

Inspired by his drama performance of ‘Bouncers,’ Macelino blends elements of Lo-Fi and Drill for his new single ‘Holiday,’

Dropping March 11th. Through this single, Macelino explores the challenges faced by young adults on a night out as well as the importance of succeeding with those closest to him. Macelino is a drill fusion artist from North London who sheds new light on a genre that is otherwise known for its dark and violent references. Having been compared to and predominantly influenced by the likes of JME, Knucks, and Unknown T, he has found a way to craft a form of drill music that remains true to his personality.

This is demonstrated on the track through playful ad-libs, a conversational tone, and intelligent punchlines as Macelino opens up to his listeners. Through smooth execution, he shares his experience of losing out on holiday experiences with his brothers throughout his teenage years.

The impact of the lockdown certainly contributed to the song with the overwhelming feeling of being stuck in the same place. This authentically relatable focus from 18-year old newcomer Macelino further assists his connection to his listeners. New single ‘Holiday’ was be released on 11th March and performed at Macelino’s show on March 12th.
